About Coach Angela

Coach Angela B has been in the Health Coaching world for over 9 years. Initially she coached for weight loss, but after seeing her weight loss clients gain back weight and return again (over and over and over) she decided to change her approach to health & weight. How could she best guide her clients to long-term health? Is it possible to lose weight on a diet and maintain it for life?

Sure. But studies have shown it doesn't usually happen this way. 

So after years of weight loss coaching she decided to make a change. She attended Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she learned and studied about hundreds of dietary theories. It was there she began to really understand the relationship between nutrition & disease. It was also when she learned about how much our food, misconceptions about diets, and how the unhealthy relationship that most people have with the scale and their weight has truly hurt the health of our nation... and hurt the health of our families.

She is now on a mission to empower others to improve their own health using whole foods, education, clean eating and an intuitive mindset around food. She has developed and implemented group and private programs and has seen amazing results when helping her clients focus on a higher quality and more nutritionally dense diet. Although weight loss isn't the focus of her programs, there is no denying the impact of weight on health, so there is always discussion about how to do this in the healthiest way possible. 21-day SUGAR DETOX: As a Certified 21-day Sugar Detox Coach I have had amazing success with my clients using this program. We will use Diane Sanfilippo's 21-Day Sugar Detox Guide as we focus on cutting out ALL sugars, most fruits and all processed foods. The 21DSD Guide has suggested menu plans, many recipes to choose from and focuses on clean proteins and vegetables while resetting yor palette (no sweet fruits or sugars allowed). There are three levels of difficulty to choose from depending on your current eating habits. Depending on the level you choose, this program allows full-fat dairy and/or some gluten free grains. Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Will I lose weight? 

Although this is not a weight loss program, most people do lose weight as they cut out processed foods and sugar. Additionally, since this is essentially an elimination program, you will reduce inflammation which can also result in weight loss. I will offer tips & suggestions to help you see the maximum results possible.

  • What's the difference between the SHRED programs and the 21-day Sugar Detox? 

The biggest different between the two is the 21DSD cuts out (almost) all fruits and any "sweet tasting" items like stevia...which is allowed in the SHRED. I offer monthly SHRED groups for free or my Juice Plus customers. My JP customers (current customers only) can join my 21-day Sugar Detox group for half price (contact Angela for discount code). 

  • Are any of the programs low-carb?

I would not define any of my programs as "low carb" however, learning how much, and which, complex carbs you should be eating is a big part of what we will learn. We will be cutting out simple sugars and any kind of "bread-y" carbs durind the elimnation program and, always, increasing plant foods which are defined as carbohydrates.

  • Do I have to eliminate alcohol?

Yes. Since we are focusing on resetting your body, your tastebuds and your habits, we do cut out all alcohol for both programs....but, since the holidays are over, now is the best time to do this and you'll find leaning on the support of your group will give you the extra motivation to stay strong and abstain from the wine and cocktails. It's only three weeks - you can do it! 

  • Can I exercise while doing this program? 

ABSOLUTELY, I actually encourage you to keep up with your regular exercise routine.

  • Can my family do this program with me? My whole family needs to cut out sugars after the holidays!! 

YES, your kids can participate with you! We can discuss any necessary modifications as obviously kids need to eat differently than we do. You also have access to Coach Angela the entire time and she will be available to help you figure out what this can look like for your whole family. Modifications will be discussed in great detail. 

  • What if I'm vegetarian or vegan?

It is not recommended that vegans participate in the 21DSD as there is too much emphasis on clean animal proteins but as am personally a plant based eater I can provide you some modifications to the 21DSD to help make it work. All of this will be discussed at length so please know we can make it work for you.

  • Can I do this if I eat strictly gluten free? 

Yes! The 21DSD is gluten free as well as soy-free, corn-free, peanut-free and very allergen-free friendly.

  • Can I do this if I follow a Paleo or Primal diet? 

YES, you will follow level 2 or 3 of the 21DSD.  

  • What kinds of foods will I be eating? Do I have to cook a lot? 

You will be eating real, whole, nutrient-dense foods. You will not be eating refined and highly processed foods. These programs do require that you get your hands dirty in the kitchen, but Coach Angela will provice you loads of tips and tricks for how to manage the program while dining out, traveling, and overall living a busy modern life.  

  • After this is all over...what do I do? 

THAT is the beauty of doing this as a group and with Coach Angela as your guide. She will do a special video webinar to discuss how to transition back to "real life" after completing your program. She will give you tips and tricks to help you continue with your new healthy eating lifestyle in a way that is manageable and doable for the long-term. You also have the option to purchase a 1:1 coaching package for a more personalized support and transition period or add on 30 day 21DSD PLUS group coaching package for only $99! 

  • What does a "virtual" group mean? Can I participate if I'm not on FB?

Participating in one of Angela's "virtual" group programs means you participate completely from home via your computer, iPad/tablet or even your phone. Most of our interaction will be done through a FB group but there will also be weekly meetings and you can participate in these without being on FB. The link will help your device set up and you will automatically connected. There is also a "call in" option so you can listen into the call if you'd rather not watch. All that being said, we use our FB Group as our "home base" with daily posts and information and if you are not on FB you wll only have access to te weekly video meetings. I do believe you will do best when you plug in and participate in the challenges, posts & meetings "live" whenever possible.

  • What if I miss one of the meetings? 

All meetings are recorded and uploaded so you can watch it at a later time. You wil recieve a weekly email with any links and all meeting reminders so you can plug in and participate as much, or as little, as you would like.  

  • Can't I do the 21-day Sugar Detox on my own? 

YEP, you can. However, it is proven tha working with a coach and with accountability groups greatly increase your success and the after effects of any program.  

  • When do the groups start again? 

We will begin as a group on Monday, January 27th. There is also a BONUS pre-DETOX week that begins on Monday, January 20th where Coach Angela will do a webinar and provide information to help you get your pantry, refrigerator and mindset in the right place for a strong start.  

  • I'm ready to start NOW, can I start early? 

You can, but I encourage you to wait and start with the group so everyone is in the same place at the same time. If you're anxious to start you new healthy eating lifestyle before the 20th begin implementing a couple of the pieces from the program (weaning off sugars, alcohol, cutting out processed foods, etc...), this can only help!
